This unique combination of a scenic cruise on picturesque Lake Tarawera, helicopter flight and guided tour on an active volcano will take your breath away.

Start your journey with a vehicle transfer from Helipro base at Whakarewarewa to Lake Tarawera. While cruising, your skipper will tell the tales of the early Maori and volcanic history of the area and how the 1886 eruption of Mt Tarawera destroyed the world renowned Pink and White Terraces and buried the Maori village of Te Wairoa, known today as the Buried Village.

Lake Tarawera is renowned for its trophy sized Rainbow Trout (up to 7kgs or 15lbs). Relax on board your very own luxury vessel and experience the excitement of catching these prized fish, a number of methods are used including fly fishing, harling, jigging and trolling. Once landed the trout can be enjoyed sashimi style on board the vessel or taken back to your hotel for dinner, if you prefer you can release your prize back into the wild but not before taking a photo as proof of your expertise. If you wish you may like to enjoy a thrilling ride on our three seater jet ski and visit Hot Water Beach for a relaxing swim in the natural thermal waters.

Depart Hot Water Beach by Helicopter and climb to the summit of spectacular Mt Tarawera, the sacred volcanic mountain of Ngati Rangitihi. Here enjoy views of the volcanoes magnificent craters and the surrounding lakes district. Informative commentaries will enlighten you as to the devastation that resulted from the largest eruption in New Zealand's living memory.

Continue tracking North for New Zealand's only permanently active volcano White Island. Here 48km's off New Zealand's coastline you will enjoy an informative guided tour around the islands active crater floor. The spectacular crater lake, steaming volcanic vents, boiling water, crystallised sulphur and the remnants of the islands sulphur works all feature in your walk around this lunar like landscape. 

Flying to and from White Island offers the opportunity to look for the dolphins and school fish which abound our waters during the summer months. End your journey at the Helipro base at Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve. This package can be done reverse starting with Helicopter flight.
