A great day cruising plus discovering the natural wonders and geothermal wonderland of the Hidden Valley, also known as Orakei Korako Cave and Thermal Park. 

While cruising on picturesque Lake Tarawera, your skipper explains the early Maori and volcanic history of the area and how the dramatic 1886 eruption of Mt Tarawera destroyed the world renowned Pink and White Terraces, and buried the Maori village of Te Wairoa (known today as the Buried Village).

You will visit Hot Water Beach where you can take a relaxing swim in the natural thermal waters before enjoying morning or afternoon tea on board. Depart via float plane and head over the spectacular Mt Tarawera crater rift to wonder at the massive signs of destruction caused by the huge eruption. 

Continue south over the palettes of colour of Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, and multi eco-tourism award winning Waimangu, before landing on the crystal clear waters of the beautiful Waikato River. Stroll through the Hidden Valley of Orakei Korako, home to some of the largest silica terraces in the world.

Reboard your plane for your return flight over the geysers of Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve, and Rotorua City ending your journey at the Lake Rotorua waterfront or Lakeside Lodge.
